Camano Island is an unincorporated area of Island County. Island County is comprised of two islands: Whidbey Island and Camano Island. Stanwood WA is not in Island County but is part of Snohomish County. Also, State Route 532, which runs from I-5, exit 212, through Stanwood and onto Camano Island, all the way to the intersection at Terry's Corner, is a WA DOT highway and can be served by Washington State Patrol.
Camano services for police/fire/aid are provided by Island County Sheriff and Camano Island Fire & Rescue.

CASA (Camano Animal Shelter Association) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a managed-admissions no-kill animal shelter policy which is devoted to the care of homeless pets. Strays can also be taken to CASA for microchip checks or to be turned in for shelter hold.
